ALTERNATIVE BUILDING    
Continuous Strawbale buildings provide us with a real choice to help reduce energy consumption when building and inhabiting our homes. A Strawbale building demonstration will be conducted by Frank Thomas from Yesterday-Today-Tomorrow, Strawbale Construction & Sam Vivers from Viva Living Homes. Come & see a Strawbale building actually being built during the field days, this will be an ongoing demonstration throughout both days. There will be an explanation of sustainable building methods, including a question & answer session. L40
Continuous Rammed Earth is a sustainable method of constructing walls, local builder Justin Penney will demonstrate the construction of earth walls over the 2 days L42

Continuous Fencing demonstration will be conducted by John Price of Price Fencing. John will be speaking on types of fencing to suit situations, depending on likely use of land/fence, what livestock, soil types, vegetation types, wind direction/ protection of young stock.There will also be a talk on fancy front entrances for your property. Demonstrations will include fit strainer & stay- emphasising chainsaw safety, run & strain wire- emphasising hand & eye protection & site hygeine, run & strain hinge joint- with mention of sharps, tension, trip hazards.Electric fence components will also be included. Continuous There will be a large variety of stationary engines, tractors, machinery & steam engines on display from the Cudgegong Valley Antique Machinery Club. The feature tractors will be Alice Chalmers & Minneapolis .The feature engine will be Lister & lawn mowers. The sled will be operating & will show spectators the drawbar pull capacity of a variety of tractors & differences between same model tractors but with modifications such as wider tyres or extra wheel heights. In addition to the sled you will see the introduction of the balance beam, testing the skills of drivers ability to balance their tractor on a raised platform. Another new feature will be a ladies tractor pull, a group of female club members will test their tractor driving skills against each other in this great new event.The engine display always boasts some well restored & presented engines. Spectators will be able to recall growing up with many of them in shearing sheds or in the river beds pumping water. L17
