Mudgee Small Farm Field Days

In 1977 a small group of local farmers and local Department of Agriculture staff foresaw the need to educate the influx of small acreage farmers who were increasingly moving into the Mudgee region of NSW. These people were not typically from agricultural backgrounds and lacked some of the knowledge required to manager their new properties effectively.

Back then the focus was on education and information about how to manage a small acreage property. Today the Field Days still cater for these new comers but also concentrates on rural industry developments, new and emergent industries and general knowledge updates for the more seasoned land holder.

What started as a vision has now turned into the phenomenal event we see today.
